I am Grateful

I'm not going to lie to you, the last year or two have been tough. As I've clarified my intentions and initiated my business plan, there have been some personal challenges arise within my family. (I don't comment on them because that would be a violation of their privacy).

It would be easy to get distracted by the negative influences that persistently demand my attention, but Thanksgiving is approaching, and I'm going to stubbornly focus on the things for which I'm truely grateful.

First, I am reverently and deeply grateful to know that there is Love that lives in my heart. Maybe that sounds odd, but there are times when the atmosphere around me is so overwhelmingly negative, I'm not so sure.

I almost get lost in the onslaught, but I know from past experience that there is something other than the judgement and criticism being aimed at me. So, I remember those Loving moments. I go back to my journal, back to those private times when I knew no-one was watching, and read my own sincere words. I hold onto the truth, focus on my good intentions. "I know what's in my heart" is my mantra.

I am so grateful for my memories of Love.

Secondly, and closely related to the first, I'm grateful to those who have gone before me and have shared their challenges, insights and Love. I'm talking about masters, like Christ and Buddha, but Im also talking about the wise men and women whose words and books inspire and uplift me; Carl Jung, Mother Meera, Joseph Campbell, Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Neil Donald Walsh, Pema Chodron, John Kabot Zinn, Carolyn Myss, Eckhart Tolle, Gary Zukav, Martha Beck, Eben Alexander, too many more to mention.

Where would we be without seekers and teachers, those willing to explore and experience new ways of being, leaving landmarks for others to follow? So many times, when I've felt alone and forgotten, the gracious words of these 'friends' have comforted and soothed my soul. Their courage has kept me company. I'm eternally grateful for their generosity.

Thank-you. Thank-you. Thank-you.

Note: I spoke to the manufacturer and they are willing to meet with me. We've scheduled a meeting for early next year, after the holidays. Very thankful for this too!
